Preston set for the Forks

As the East End gears up for another busy summer, get ready for some changes — and a new boutique hotel and fine dining restaurant in Riverhead, LI.

“We decided to open The Preston House & Hotel in Riverhead because it is the mouth of the North and South Forks,” said Jennifer Petrocelli, adding that her family wanted to be part of downtown Riverhead’s revitalization.

Preston House & Hotel, which has 20 rooms, has hired top chef and award-winning BBQ pit master Matty Boudreau, formerly of Sag Harbor’s Baron’s Cove Inn, to head its restaurant.

The 26,000-square-foot hotel comes from developer Joe Petrocelli and his daughter, Jennifer, who also own the Long Island Aquarium and the Hyatt Place East End hotel.

The 3,200-square-foot eatery has 88 seats inside and 50 seats outside. The menu is new American, local and organic. There’s also a thousand-bottle wine cellar and private dining rooms.

Signature dishes so far include NPOF (nice piece of fish), which is market-driven, local and seasonal. At the moment, the fish is blackfish. It’s always prepared pan-seared and is currently accompanied by a grain and local vegetables from Satur Farms.

Sushi by Bou is following the Jue Lan Club to the Hamptons this summer. The affordable omakase hot spot, from chef David Bouhadana and partners Michael Sinensky and Erika London, from FB Hospitality Group, is also part of the Jue Lan Club in Chelsea.

Sushi by Bou Southampton will offer a $100, 60-minute omakase experience or a $50, 30-minute lunch offering. Dinner seatings feature 15 pieces and a seasonal handroll.
