'EVIL' NANNY WILL NEVER BE SET FREE

Double life term for killing 2 kids

The killer nanny will rot in prison.

Yoselyn Ortega finally got her due Monday when a judge slapped the coldblooded murderer with a pair of consecutive life sentences — one for each of the two children she butchered.

But before Judge Gregory Carro guaranteed the unrepentant Ortega would never again see freedom, little Lucia and Leo Krim’s mother, Marina, brought the Manhattan courtroom to tears.

The shattered mom told the tragedy through the eyes of her only surviving daughter, Nessie, who was 3 in 2012 when she and her mother returned home to find her 2year-old brother and 6-yearold sister in the bathroom.

“Each time she makes a wish, it’s always for Lulu and Leo to come back to us,” Marina said. “Nessie knows that wish will never come true.”

The mom ripped the “evil” nanny and blamed Ortega’s family for lying to get the deeply troubled woman the job.

“My family and I, we create and build. The defendant and her family, they destroy and ruin,’’ Marina said.

“I wrote this statement knowing that in the future, Nessie will read this. When she does, I want her to know that this crime was not just committed by one evil person. It was a conspiracy by an entire family of bad, unethical people.

“Her third-grade teacher . . . told me that they are doing a unit on realistic fiction and they get to create a ‘human and believable’ character. Nessie’s character is in fifth grade, has brown curly hair and she’s a mathematician. “And her name is Lulu.” Unable to hold back her tears, the brave mother concluded: “The defendant may think she destroyed Lulu and Leo, but she is a failure in this, too. Lulu and Leo are powerful forces. They are two stars now who will always lead us forward.”

She was followed by her husband, Kevin.

“We miss them so, so much,” he said. “We miss picking Leo up out of his crib, with a happy ‘ Mama’ or ‘Dada’ from him and always a big hug.

“We miss holding their hands as we walked down the sidewalk. We miss attempting to argue them out of a Mister Softee cone, and losing most of the time.”

Calling Ortega “an evil and utterly dangerous narcissist and a complete failure,” the father told Judge Carro, “The defendant knows nothing of responsibility or remorse. She should also know nothing of hope.’’

The only time Ortega showed any emotion was when she whimpered that she deserved mercy because she was “very sorry for everything that happened.”

But even then, she turned her sorrow into self-pity, adding, “I hope that no one goes through what I have gone through.”

Carro was having none of it, noting that Ortega had steadfastly refused to apologize to the parents.

Ortega will likely be sent to the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in Westchester County, lawenforcement sources said.

At least nine jurors and alternates were on hand to see justice meted out, with some breaking into tears as Ortega got the maximum sentence.

Before the proceeding, juror David Curtis said, “I just needed to see the end of this.

“The other day, I found myself on the corner of 76th [Street] and Columbus [Avenue], and I just stopped,” he said, tears filling his eyes as he described looking into the lobby of the building where the murders took place.

“It’s profoundly changed the way I look at things, the way I look at the city,” he added.
