Lenny’s Swift response
TROUBLED Mets great Lenny Dykstra brushed off the “ridiculousness” of the charges stemming from his most recent arrest during a rambling Twitter session in which he cited Taylor Swift lyrics — and compared himself to Joseph from the Old Testament. Hours after he was released on a summons after allegedly threatening an Uber driver in New Jersey, Dykstra was tweeting lyrics to Swift hit “Shake It Off,” reports The Post’s Natalie Musumeci. “But I keep cruising, can’t stop, won’t stop moving. It’s like I got this music in my mind, sayin’ gonna be alright,” he tweeted. Dykstra, 55, was charged with third-degree making of terroristic threats and drug offenses. The Uber driver told police Dykstra put a weapon to his head and threatened to kill him after the driver refused to change his destination, according to cops. Police did not recover any weapon, but the ex-MLBer was found in possession of cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy when he was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. “Released pretty immediately. The fact that I had no gun after being accused of pulling a gun on the driver certainly didn’t hurt,” Dykstra tweeted to a fan who asked if he was in jail. In a tweet to sports radio personality Angelo Cataldi, Dykstra said, “Will do my best to avoid the pokey,” so he could attend the station’s “Wing Bowl.” “The ridiculousness of these charges make it easier for me.” In another tweet to a fan — and a group of rabbis — Dykstra wrote: “Just remember that Joseph was only able to make his impact in Ancient Egypt and, more long-term, on the Israelites after a BS trip to jail.”
