KO’d by K2 in Crown Hts.
Three people were discovered passed out on the sidewalks and benches of Crown Heights after suffering from suspected K2 overdoses on Thursday.
The zombie-like victims needed to be pried off the pavement at Eastern Parkway and Ralph Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. and were taken to the hospital as the NYPD investigated.
“This is extremely toxic. You literally do not know what you’re putting into your body,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said at a press conference.
“We’re seeing in the most recent incidents, two different strains. One appears to be much more toxic than the others.”
Shea said there have been close to 100 incidents involving K2 in recent days.
The police lab was working to identify exactly what people were ingesting in an effort to stop the synthetic drug from ravaging Brooklyn neighborhoods.
In addition to the plague-ridden corner in Crown Heights, more than two dozen people overdosed on K2 last week near an infamous Bedford-Stuyvesant deli.
“We have up to 36 arrests in and around the vicinity [of Myrtle and Broadway],” NYPD Chief of Department Terrence Monahan said about the corner where Big Boy Deli is located.
“So there’s a large presence, and it’s gonna stay there so we can kind of get closer to that source.”
On Tuesday, eight people were arrested for selling K2, some of which came in colorful packages that include cartoon characters like Scooby-Doo.
