Rape & assault arrest for Harv
Harvey Weinstein will turn himself in Friday to face rape and sex-assault charges in Manhattan, according to law-enforcement sources.
The pervy producer will be hit with charges of firstand third-degree rape for allegedly forcing himself on one woman, and a charge of criminal sex act related to an incident involving another, according to sources close to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
The IDs of the accusers were not revealed, although among those who testified against the movie mogul before a grand jury was actress Lucia Evans, who claims Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him in 2004, sources said.
Weinstein, 66, will surrender at a police station house for fingerprinting in the morning before being taken to Manhattan Supreme Court, where he’ll appear before Judge Kevin McGrath.
Weinstein has been accused of sexually assaulting and harassing more than 80 women — including “Boardwalk Empire” star Paz de la Huerta, who claims he raped her twice in 2010.
De la Huerta’s case is under investigation by the Manhattan DA, sources confirmed, but it’s unclear if it’s connected to the charges Weinstein is surrendering to face.
The grand jury has also heard testimony about Weinstein’s alleged financial fraud, but that will not be part of the charges.
Weinstein’s lawyer declined to comment.
