Chapman makes NY return

-

AS disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein faces charges in Manhattan Criminal Court, his ex Georgina Chapman is buying a property in leafy Westchester County, sources exclusively tell Page Six.

We hear that Chapman has not yet closed on the property in an enclave that’s known for its many A-list celebrity residents. But the move would mark the Marchesa designer’s return to New York after she fled to Los Angeles and London following the horrific allegations by dozens of women — including movie stars Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd and Gwyneth Paltrow — that brought down her husband. He’s now facing felony criminal charges against two women, but his lawyer Ben Brafman said he’ll file a motion to dismiss the case.

Weinstein and Chapman reportedly sold off their West Village townhouse, as well as a mansion in Amagansett, LI, and an estate in Westport, Conn. She reportedly will receive up to $20 million in their divorce settlement.

She’s denied in a new Vogue profile that she was ever suspicious of her husband’s behavior: “Absolutely not. Never.” The piece added that “She had put a bid on a house in upstate New York — a farm — and was hoping to find out if the bid was accepted.” We hear that the deal is going ahead.

Sources told Page Six that residents nearby thought they’d seen Weinstein near the new home this week, but reps for Chapman and Weinstein denied that he was there.

After Weinstein’s hearing on Friday, he’s out on $1 million bail, but must remain within in New York and Connecticut. Chapman’s received support for a fashion comeback by Anna Wintour, who featured Chapman in Vogue and said on Stephen Colbert’s show, “Georgina is a brilliant designer, and I don’t think that she should be blamed for her husband’s behavior.”

Chapman said in Vogue: “I don’t want to be viewed as a victim . . . because I don’t think I am. Ia ma woman in as--t situation, but it’s not unique.”
