Selling like hot cakes

- Dan Elliott

Two days after Anthony Bourdain’s death, his fans were hungrier than ever for his books — with his works scoring six of the top 10 slots on Amazon.com’s best-seller list Saturday.

At No. 1 was the paperback “updated edition” of “Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly,” the hit 2000 memoir that transformed Bourdain from an obscure Manhattan bistro chef to a TV personality.

The hardcover edition placed seventh.

His 2010 follow-up, “Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook,” scored fifth place.

Others in the top 10 were “Appetites: A Cookbook” (2016) at No. 6, “Anthony Bourdain’s Les Halles Cookbook” (2005) at No. 8, and “A Cook’s Tour: Global Adventures in Extreme Cuisines” (2002) at No. 9.

Meanwhile, autographed editions were fetching top dollar on eBay.

A signed copy of “Kitchen Confidential’’ sold for $499, and one of “Appetites” went for $490.

A signed copy of 2007’s “No Reservations: Around the World on an Empty Stomach” netted $300.

Similarly, products by designer Kate Spade, who committed suicide Tuesday, were also flying off the shelves.

The newest items from her last accessories brand, Frances Valentine, were nearly sold out on the label’s Web site as of late Saturday.
