Krauthammer’s Legacy: A Wise Voice for Our Age

-

Charles Krauthammer’s career has been defined by two traits: brilliance and resilience (“Krauthammer’s devastating reveal,” Michael Goodwin, June 10).

His story of perseverance in graduating from Harvard Medical School despite being paralyzed, achieving renown in the field of psychiatry and then becoming a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist is a source of inspiration and indicative of his wide-ranging talents and irrepressible determination.

He is the nation’s leading intellectual voice in support of Israel — without parallel in his ability to articulate the moral case for supporting Israel and the craven hypocrisy of Israel’s critics.

His analyses are always insightful, well-argued and thought-provoking. I will miss him greatly. Stephen A. Silver San Francisco, Calif.

Though so many of Krauthammer’s special qualities have been pointed out since his recent sad announcement, there is one that has always impressed me: his ability to speak without emotional baggage.

It is not easy to accomplish, yet Krauthammer always spoke in a clear, clinical manner that gave extra gravitas to his words.

It was a treat to listen to him. I wonder if someone else will come along who can match him. Matthew Pease Demarest, NJ Krauthammer is a fine writer. He has only a few weeks to live, according to his doctors, due to the rapid spread of cancer throughout his body.

He is facing this with such grace and serenity. He has had a good life, filled with family, friends and colleagues and seems ready for the inevitable.

We wish him peace and strength as his final weeks with us continue.

He will be very much missed. He is an icon who always told it like it was and a well-respected writer. John Amato Fresh Meadows

Krauthammer is such a role model for all people. He suffered with a crippling paralysis for so many years of his life.

He is a genius commentator, doctor and writer. Walter Faust Bronxville

My heart is full of grief for Krauthammer, who chose to live through unbelievable bad fortune and make the best of it with courage and bravery. He was an example to us all. He made us ashamed to think we had it tough. He was also one of the sanest individuals in the world. Marty Perry Massapequa
