Vid of profane Collins rant surfaces

- By NOAH BRESSNER nbressner@nypost.com

There have to be more of these videos stored away somewhere.

Two years ago, Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard was ejected in a game against the Dodgers after he threw a 99-mph fastball nearly a foot behind Chase Utley.

And now the video of Terry Collins’ profanitylaced tirade, targeted first at home plate umpire Adam Hamari and then at crew chief Tom Hallion, has resurfaced and gone viral. Collins was — for obvious reasons — thrown out of the game.

After Syndergaard was tossed, he told Hallion he was trying to “throw a f------ fastball.” Hallion responded by telling the hurler he “picked the wrong time to do it.”

Hallion then ran over to Collins, where the Mets manager was heard saying to Hamari, “You c-------er! That’s bull----!” before turning to Hallion and saying, “Tommy, that’s f------ bull---! You gotta give us a shot. You gotta give us a shot, Tom!”

“You get your shot, you had your shot right here,” Hallion responded.

Later in the fight, Collins said to Hallion, “You’re better than that, Tommy. You know that!”

“Terry, listen, I’m telling your our ass is in the jackpot now,” Hallion said. “OK, I’m just telling you.”

Collins responded with profanity, calling Hallion a “f-----m---------er.”

“You know what — you get everything out?” Hallion said.

The tension between the two teams stemmed from Utley’s late slide into second base during the 2015 NLDS that broke Ruben Tejada’s leg.

“Well, Terry’s fiery,” Neil Walker, the Mets’ second baseman in 2016, said Wednesday. “That particular instance, we were in a fairly big part of the season and I think it was the first inning of the game and we had Noah on the mound and you’re hoping for a good start from him. In most occasions, those instances there’s either warnings issued before the game even starts if they feel there might be some bad blood or something along those lines or if something does happen when somebody gets thrown behind or gets hit. Then there’s warnings immediately issued. And neither of those things happened and I think that’s what got Terry going.

“He obviously had a very good point. He had a valid point that nothing was issued. [Syndergaard] threw behind him and he was immediately ejected in the first inning.”

Collins’ rant happened to surface the same night of Mickey Callaway’s lackluster first ejection as the Mets manager. The Mets are a dismal 28-36 in Callaway’s first season after a franchise-best 11-1 start had him the toast of Flushing.

The Dodgers went on to win the game Collins was ejected from, 9-1. Utley hit a home run in the sixth followed by a grand slam in the seventh.
