Summer night mayhem

- By AMANDA WOODS Additional reporting by Katherine Lavacca

Three people are dead and two are clinging to life in a string of shootings and accidents throughout the city in three boroughs over the last 24 hours, cops said.

An unidentified 43-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to his torso on Decatur Street near Thomas S. Boyland Street in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn around 6:20 a.m. Saturday, cops said.

Responding paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.

Neighbors said the shooting might have been sparked by a dispute at the nearby Harvey bar and restaurant.

About two hours earlier and just a few blocks away, a man was shot in front of the Checkers fastfood joint on Broadway near Eldert Street. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.

Cops don’t believe the two shootings are connected.

Later Saturday morning, around 7:45 a.m., Steven Gonzalez, 44, was found unconscious — with head trauma — in front of his home on 123rd Street near 13th Avenue in College Point, Queens.

He was pronounced dead on scene. It was not immediately clear how he died.

The carnage continued on the roads, police said.

In Coney Island, a 44-year-old man was struck by a hit-and-run driver as he crossed the street on Surf Avenue near West 12th Street around 3:55 a.m. Saturday.

The driver, in a 2017 Honda sedan, continued east on Surf Avenue until cops closed in on him and took him into custody, according to police. Charges are pending against him.

The victim was taken to NYU Langone Medical Center in critical condition.

And on Friday evening around 9:50 p.m., Heriberta Ramirez, 42, was fatally struck by an SUV at Bay Street and Grant Street in Stapleton, Staten Island. The driver — who appeared to be speeding — was heading south on Bay Street and lost control, cops said.

The SUV then rammed into Ramirez, who was standing in a designated pedestrian cut-out in a center median. The SUV driver continued south on Bay Street, and had not been arrested by Saturday evening.
