Cop-shot rap vs. ex-con

‘Bonnie & Clyde’ trail of mayhem

The man accused of shooting an NYPD detective during a Friday gun battle in Brooklyn has been charged with attempted murder.

Kelvin Stichel, 33, allegedly opened fire as Detective Miguel Soto, 32, and his partner — who were getting ready to serve Stichel with a warrant on domestic-violence charges — approached him on a BedfordStuyvesant street.

Soto was struck in the leg. The cops returned fire, hitting Stichel in the forearm.

Stichel bolted, leaving a trail of blood that cops followed for three blocks. Police eventually nabbed the career criminal in the hallway of a Kingston Avenue building.

He spent Friday and much of Saturday handcuffed to a bed in Brookdale Hospital, where he was awaiting arraignment.

In addition to the attemptedmurder charge, Stichel was also hit with a robbery charge for a March 13 incident in which he allegedly held a gun to girlfriend Tarnita Jacobs’ head and forced her into the bedroom of her apartment, where he stole clothes, police said.

Stichel has served three stints in state prison, including two years between 2002 and 2004 for attempted robbery in West- chester and from 2009 to 2010 for a drugpossession charge in Brooklyn.

He and Jacobs appear to have a “Bonnie and Clyde”-type love affair that involved 14 domestic incidents, sources said.

Last month, Jacobs, 38, allegedly peppersprayed police officers who had come to her apartment looking for Stichel, allowing the lovebirds to make a break for it.

Jacobs was arrested late Friday night in connection with the al- leged spray attack, and charged her with assaulting a police officer.

She was also slapped with a second felony assault charge for a March 24 incident during which she and a pal allegedly smashed a glass bottle over the head of a 38year-old woman.

Soto was in a wheelchair with his 2-year-old son in his lap as he was released from Kings County Hospital on Friday.

It’s not the first time the detective exchanged shots with a suspect.

In 2016, Soto was in pursuit of a gunman who had taken aim at two others as they ran past a Brooklyn playground. Soto earned the NYPD Medal of Valor after he shot the gunman, striking him twice. The gunman was then arrested.
