Murdered at 101 by ‘neighbor’

Marcia Morrison turned 101 last week and by all accounts was active, healthy and happiest when she was “on the go.”

But her life that began when Woodrow Wilson was in the White House was cut short by a crazed neighbor with an unknown grudge, police and the victim’s relatives said on Wednesday.

Morrison, of upstate Rochester, was stabbed repeatedly in the neck, throat and torso sometime late Sunday or early Monday by Greg Jesmer, 54, police said.

Her body wasn’t discovered until Tuesday morning, and on Wednesday Jesmer was arrested and pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder in Rochester City Court. He was ordered held without bail.

“I was shocked, very shocked and angry. Especially a lady who’s 101 years old to die a violent death, there’s anger,” Morrison’s nephew Michael Aikens, 63, told The Post.

“We just thought she would just pass away naturally at some point. I never expected that she would be murdered.”

Aikens said Jesmer, who lived above Morrison at the Rochester Highlands apartment complex, wouldwould often knock on Morrison’s door asking for money and food, which the woman happily obliged. He was caught by police shortly after Morrison’s body was found — in a separate incident in which he allegedly attempted to lure a 13-year-old girl to his home in exchange for $500, authorities said. Cops then found evidence at his home linking him to the murder. Morrison, who did not have children and had been a widow for nearly three decades, was an active part of her community, Aikens said. Morrison was a “huge Mets fan” and was golfing nine holes well into her 90s, Aikens said. Even at 101, the only thing that held her back was a mounting issue with her vision, but it never got in the way of her routine.

“She took the bus from where she lived to Wegmans to do her grocery shopping on Mondays. She went to the senior center on Tuesdays. She was involved in an organization and would go to their meetings and picnics. She was very active. She enjoyed life,” Aikens remembered. “Everybody loved her.” Before Morrison retired, she worked as a receptionist for a manufacturing company and lived in Rochester for the majority of her life.
