FATHER: MEGHAN HAS CUT ME OFF

- By LAURA ITALIANO

Meghan Markle’s father says he’s been banished from her newly royal life — and he’s wondering, “Perhaps it would be easier if I was dead.” In a new, self-pity-drenched interview in the Sunday Daily Mail, Thomas Markle, 74, claims the Dutchess of Sussex and new bride of Prince Harry has stricken him from her life. “I’m really hurt that she’s cut me off completely,” he told the London-based news site. “I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at [Buckingham] palace, but after I said a few critical words about the royal family changing Meghan, they cut me off,” he said. “Those numbers were disconnected; they no longer work,” he complained. “I have no way of contacting my daughter.” He now fears the palace will never let him see any future grandchildren, said the dad, a former TV lighting director who lives in Mexico.

Thomas has been a perpetual thorn in the royal family’s side, giving multiple critical interviews and even cashing in on paparazzi-staged tabloid photos in the lead-up to Meghan’s May wedding — which he didn’t attend.

In June, he seethed against Queen Elizabeth on TMZ: “If the queen is willing to meet our arrogant, ignorant, and insensitive president, she has no excuse not to meet me. I’m nowhere near as bad.”

He now tells The Mail that he thinks Meghan just might be better off with him dead.

“Everyone would be filled with sympathy for her,” he mused.

His latest lamentations prompted supermodel Chrissy Teigen to snark on Twitter on Saturday night: “This guy . . . this guy sucks . . . What is wrong with him?”
