YANKEES: Severino took the loss in his last start Friday in Boston, allowed four runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked three. Severino has lost three straight starts for the first time since losing six straight April 26Aug. 14, 2016.

WHITE SOX: Giolito is 2-1 with a 3.19 ERA and .198 opponents average over his last five starts. He received a no-decision in his last start Friday at Tampa Bay, allowing one run on two hits over seven innings. Giolito has surrendered 15 home runs in his last 13 starts.

YANKEES: Lance Lynn allowed just two hits and one walk over 7 ¹/3 scoreless innings Monday, tying his season high with nine strikeouts and earning the win in his first start as a Yankee. It was his ninth career start of at least seven scoreless innings and three hits-or-fewer, the fourth such start by a Yankee in 2018.

WHITE SOX: Daniel Palka’s three pinchhit homers this season are tied with Oscar Gamble (1977), John Romano (1959) and Ron Northey (1956) for the franchise record, and his nine RBIs are the most by a Sox pinch hitter since Jerry Hairston in 1987 (10).
