Big ’dog hits with Fitz
The Wild cat returns for his 22 nd season in The Post. Including the 1997-2017 season sin the Bet tor’ s Guide, Cat’ s record in print stand sat 595-498(54.4 percent) against the spread. Buccaneers (+9½) over SAINTS: Successful NFL franchises are creatures of habit — they keep doing what has advanced them to their prevailing status. Saints coach Sean Payton and stellar quarterback Drew Brees have been a wildly successful combo, but they’ve had a devil of a time in season openers. The Bucs tend to play these Saints tough, and are catching beaucoup points due to the suspension of quarterback Jameis Winston. Whip-smart Harvard product Ryan Fitzpatrick is a paragon of maturity in road games, and look for offensively minded Tampa Bay to hang within this tall number. Attack with the Bucs, for one unit.
DOLPHINS (+1½) over Titans: Have issues with the dimensions of Ryan Tannehill’s self-regard, but will overlook them with a sigh of gratefulness that he’s back to provide Miami competent quarterbacking. Tennessee has better talent, but its new coaching staff is breaking in revised systems, which takes time. Titans wilt in steambath, and Dolphins prevail in bore fest, for one unit.
LAST WEEK: 0-1 (Western Michigan, minus one unit).
