COP: DON’T TASE ME, BRONADS!

Oops! Groin shot by other cop

- By TINA MOORE and AARON FEIS

This is nuts! A Brooklyn cop got a shock to the crotch when a clumsy fellow officer fumbled a Taser and accidentally f ired it straight toward his groin, police sources told The Post.

The butterf ingered NYPD cop dropped the stun gun while hustling up a flight of stairs to the Sundaynight roll call at Sunset Park’s 72nd Precinct station house and grabbed for it in midair — but instead triggered the Taser, launching its charged barbs at the crotch of his fellow off icer, the sources said.

“One prong did puncture pants and pricked his groin area without penetration of the barb,” red-faced cops had to report in an unintentionally tongue-in-cheek memo to Chief of Patrol Rodney Harrison, obtained by The Post. “The other prong did puncture pants but did not make skin contact.”

The bumbling cop at least had the presence of mind to quickly take his f inger off the Taser’s trigger, killing the current coursing to the luckless lawman’s groin, sources said.

EMS was called to the Fourth Avenue cop shop at around 11:15 p.m. Mercifully, the barbs didn’t embed themselves and the cop suffered only a “slight shock.” He refused to go to the hospital.

The officer who dropped the Taser lost his grip because his hands were full with two of the stun guns, two body cameras and two batteries — one set for both him and his partner — as he headed up the stairs, making him an accident waiting to happen, thr sources said.

It was unclear whether his partner was the victim of the unintentional zapping.

“If you’re carrying things, that can happen,” said one police source. “But my God, what are the odds of it going there? Being cops, we would laugh at that.”

Another source was more sympathetic and grateful that the shocking tale ended up as something to snicker about rather than a tragedy.

“He was lucky it hit him there and not in the eye,” the source said.

The cop who fumbled the Taser is expected to be disciplined, although it wasn’t immediately clear how or what the exact infraction was.

Sunday’s crotch shot wasn’t the f irst cop-on-cop shock.

In May 2016, one off icer accidentally zapped another in the leg during a chase of an emotionally disturbed man running through a Manhattan subway tunnel.
