LET HIM GROPE! UM, NOPE!
Feisty gal tells of subway-perv pummel
He groped the wrong gal. A tough Staten Island woman fought back against a creep who groped her in a Manhattan subway station — chasing, cornering and then confronting him, shouting, “Why would you touch me?”
“He just grabbed my whole buttocks!” real-estate worker Chantal Castanon, 26, said Friday night, still incensed almost a month after the encounter in a Grand Central subway stairwell.
The groper, who was still at large early Saturday, had been climbing the stairs as Castanon was descending. “Like, really quickly it happened,” said the Emerson Hill resident. “I felt the rage coming from my stomach,” she said. “Then I just reacted.”
She threw her cellphone into her purse for safe keeping and lit out after the pervert. She chased him into a corner and started hit- ting him, all the while berating him: “Do you know me from somewhere? Who are you?”
He kept apologizing. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” She kept hitting him. Finally, he flung her aside.
Two bystanders joined Castanon in chasing the groper, but he made it out of the station and disappeared.
“He messed with the wrong victim,” one police source said.
In hopes of catching the sicko, cops on Friday released video of Castanon confronting him.
Seeing it, “I was like, ‘Wow,’ ” she told The Post. “I can’t believe I actually did that. I didn’t even think about it. It was just so natural for me.” Now, she just wants him caught. “Because you don’t know who [else] he did it to, or who he’s going to potentially do it to. It has to be stopped. I just really want him caught and off the streets.”
