NETS NOTES

-

“I don’t even think about it,” Jared Dudley said. “If you make it to the playoffs, 75 percent of people get paid based off of making the playoffs. How you do winning is being unselfish.”

“It’s more than just us that’s on the line, it’s all of our families as well,” said Spencer Dinwiddie, one of those seven — with the Nets having to decide by Dec. 8 whether to hand him up to $47.5 million over four years.

“So as men we acknowledge that, we recognize that. We also understand you have to be in the moment, be in the present situation and do what’s best for the unit.”

For Dinwiddie — an NBA Most Improved Player finalist — last season’s breakthrough season combined with a bargain $1.6 million deal this season has put him squarely in trade rumors.

“Being in trade rumors all summer, I guess it’s two pieces. I want to be here, I love being here, I’m happy that they didn’t. And on the flip side, the spectrum of teams calling means obviously I played well,” Dinwiddie said.

The Nets have until Oct. 15 to extend D’Angelo Russell, but appear set to let him become a restricted free agent next summer.

Kenneth Faried, arrested last month in Long Island for marijuana possession, said the legal situation won’t affect his availability. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (strained adductor) and Dzanan Musa (ankle) haven’t been cleared yet, but said they’ll be fine.
