Bush party: Wed herring?

-

NEW York society types are buzzing after mysterious invitations went out for a “celebration” of former First Daughter Barbara Bush and her under-the-radar relationship with her actor beau of under a year, Craig Coyne.

The invites offer few clues about what will happen at the event next Friday night at a luxe Tribeca loft — they read: “Join us to toast Barbara and Craig.”

Invited guests and uptown gossips alike are speculating that it could be an engagement party, a surprise wedding — or that the couple, who’ve only been dating about seven months, may have some other news to share.

The Paperless Post invites also instruct guests, “Sequins highly encouraged to get your groove on.”

We’re told that the Oct. 12 fête is being cohosted by Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, and her husband, Henry Hager. There will be another event on Saturday just for close family and friends. “It’s only about 20 people,” said a pal.

When we asked a Bush family rep if the Saturday event will be a wedding after a larger Friday rehearsal dinner or engagement party, the flack replied only, “Unfortunately, this is not true,” without any further comment.

The couple — who were set up by friends — have been very discreet during their brief ro- mance, having never even been photographed together at events.

Coyne appeared in 2005’s hit “Jarhead,” and has since showed up in a string of indie projects, including “Look at Me” and “The Snowtown Murders.” Last we heard, Bush — a longtime New Yorker — was dating filmmaker Andrew Jenks.

Page Six spies spotted Jenks and Bush on a series of dates around Christmastime 2016, including a Rangers game and a Chris Gethard comedy show at the Lynn Redgrave Theater.

Before that, we reported that Barbara was dating Franck Raharinosy, a partner in the formerly hip pingpong club SPiN. She even hosted events there during their romance.
