Trump’s Trade Win: A New, Improved NAFTA

-

The left was appalled when President Trump criticized Canada and Mexico (“Promise Kept,” Editorial, Oct. 2).

He was supposed to keep quiet about the unfair-to-America NAFTA deal, but now we have a better agreement.

Do you suppose that the president knows much more about how to reach a deal than the negotiators of the previous agreement? Perish the thought. William Neubeck Freehold

In his Inaugural Address, Trump pitted his vision of America First against “the false song of globalism.”

He took stock of the winnowing out of America’s manufacturing base caused by “free trade” and adopted the mantle of “fair trade.”

Trump wins again with the new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada. This will boost our economy even more and make America even greater.

Trump boasts that he has done more in two years than any other president before him.

He happens to be right, but he will get no credit from the Democrats, who will say or do anything to undermine all his accomplishments.

He will win a second term in a landslide. Thank you, Mr. President. D. Mann Miller Place
