America’s Plea to Nikki: Aim for the White House
The news that Ambassador Nikki Haley is resigning is a real surprise, and she certainly will be missed (“Perfect Vision,” Seth Lipsky, PostOpinion, Oct. 11).
She has done an excellent job of representing our country in the United Nations, and she was always able to make her point very forcefully.
Her candor was very useful in dealing with other ambassadors, especially the envoy from Russia.
She is going to be missed. Hopefully, President Trump will select someone with a similar temperament to represent the United States at the UN.
We wish her success in whatever future endeavors she might be undertaking. John Amato Fresh Meadows
The American people will miss Haley, but hopefully she will run for president in 2020.
America is well overdue for a female president, one who will put America first and won’t make excuses, play the gender card or line her own pockets.
She’d be a tough, yet fair and fearless leader — like former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Tommy Dejulio New Rochelle
Haley is on to the next chapter of her accomplished life.
She’s a star — the most successful woman on the political scene in years. She was a great governor of South Carolina before she ascended to the United Nations, where she restored respect for America and Israel among nations that have hated both countries.
Haley and Trump put us on the path to relations with North Korea.
Together they called out every country that has disrespected the United States over the years.
She did us proud, setting a beautiful table and the groundwork for a safe future.
We all thank her. Godspeed. JR Cummings Manhattan
The resignation of Ambassador Haley is a great loss for the Trump administration.
That being said, we’re looking at a potential first female president of the United States. She’s a total class act. Jackie Biaggi The Bronx
Thank you for your service, Ambassador Haley. Our country and the world are better for it. Joe Mulvanerton Old Bridge, NJ
