Divorcing socialite flees gala

-

DIVORCING socialite Libbie Mugrabi was seen fleeing a swanky gala at the Plaza this week when the art-world fixture was seated at the same table as a woman she believed went skinny-dipping with her husband over the summer, sources told Page Six.

Spies were buzzing when Libbie came faceto-face with the woman at the black-tie gala, the Casita Maria Fiesta, then exited the dinner after 10 minutes. A source told Page Six: “Libbie left early because she was so upset.”

Mugrabi is in the midst of a pricey divorce from art-collector billionaire David Mugrabi.

Page Six reported in August that sources claimed Libbie caught her husband frolicking nude with another woman in their Hamptons home, when he allegedly went skinny-dipping with the woman. According to a source familiar with the situation, Libbie “confronted the woman the next day over breakfast, and secretly got her nanny to record it.”

At the gala, a source said that Libbie thought she was seated with the alleged woman. “Libbie was at the cocktails, but then only sat for the gala for 10 minutes. She ignored the woman, but she was uncomfortable.”

Another insider insisted of any alleged incident with another woman: “Libbie is mistaken, and the woman and her soon-to-be-ex never had a fling. There was no nakedness.”

Libbie and David filed for divorce in July and have been bitterly battling in Manhattan Supreme Court. Libbie even recently hauled a $500,000 Keith Haring sculpture before a judge to support her claim that she and David got into a tussle over the expensive piece.

Staying at the Casita Maria Fiesta were guests such as Nicky Hilton, Olivia Palermo, Christine Schwarzman and Jean Shafiroff, as well as chairs Jacqueline Weld Drake, Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia and Carlos Mota. Honorees included Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Carlos Souza and Mary Snow.

A lawyer for Libbie did not comment, and a lawyer for David did not get back to us.
