Cuomo’s Cowardice: Refusing To Face a Rival

THE ISSUE: Gov. Cuomo’s reluctance to debate his Republican challenger, Marc Molinaro.

-

The Post asked a very good question: “What are you afraid of, Gov?” (Oct. 18).

The answer is really very simple: Someone who fancies himself the King of New York, as Gov. Cuomo does, thinks he does not have to debate anyone.

As New Yorkers, we expect our government officials to outline what they stand for. If Cuomo refuses to debate, it is a clear indication that he realizes he has a very weak position, and he doesn’t want us to have a basis for comparison.

Why not set up a stage and have Marc Molinaro answer questions, as would be done in a debate, and have Cuomo represented by an empty chair?

It’s no surprise that Cuomo will not debate. He runs a totally corrupt administration, and he couldn’t care less.

His lies never stop, and he’s afraid to go toe-totoe with Molinaro, who will point out the corruption, lies and self-in- terest in the Cuomo administration.

Cuomo has a big mouth when talking about President Trump or Mayor de Blasio, but when it comes to justifying his failed agenda, he is a coward. If he can’t stack the debate in his favor, he won’t show up.

A man who won’t stand up to debate his policies against his rival should not be governor. Go to the polls, vote Republican and send Cuomo home.

Gov. Cuomo is following the infamous Rose Garden strategy and ignoring his underdog Republican challenger.

He is refusing to participate in a series of public debates between now and Election Day.

He did the same in the Democratic primary by participating in only one debate at the 11th hour with his under-financed opponent, Cynthia Nixon.

Gov. Cuomo’s goal is avoiding debates, knowing full well that his election is preordained.

Cuomo will not debate Molinaro because he fears the Pinocchio curse. He knows every time he opens his mouth, his nose grows.

The sad thing is that despite all of Cuomo’s foul balls, New York Democrats will vote for him.

Thursday’s front page was classic New York Post. All it needed was dollar signs coming out of Cuomo’s mouth, because all that matters to him is “bucks, bucks, bucks.”
