KNICKS NOTES
The Knicks have given no timetable for Knox’s return from a sprained left ankle and announced Sunday he will be reevaluated in one week. Knox rolled his ankle seriously Saturday after getting fouled by Boston’s Terry Rozier on a fast break.
X-rays during the game showed no fracture, and an MRI exam on Sunday revealed no torn ligaments or tendons.
“How it looked and [being] 19, somehow that thing is elastic,” Fizdale said. “It was a huge relief to find out it was just a sprain.”
Knox isn’t on the current twogame trip so he could receive heavy treatment back home. He will miss the Garden showdown against his idol, Kevin Durant, and the Warriors on Friday. If it’s a two-week absence, Knox would not be back until Nov. 4 in Washington. That would be six games missed — if things go well.
The Knicks are dealing with another ankle sprain with point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, who stepped on Trey Burke’s foot in an Oct. 14 practice and has been out since. Bucks coach Mike Buden
holzer interviewed for the Knicks job in late April. The Post reported during the process that Budenholzer had Knicks No. 1 on his list but he never got an offer.
“I definitely interviewed so I can’t lie or deny that,’’ he said. “But I’m in Milwaukee and couldn’t be more excited about the team here. I feel very fortunate for the situation I’m in, the team organization, the city. It’s been beyond everything I hoped for and expected. Best to Fiz and the Knicks. A lot of respect for them.’’
