Cohen: Don said blacks were stupid

- Amanda Woods

President Trump once told Michael Cohen that “black people are too stupid to vote for me,” the commander in chief ’s disgraced former lawyer said in an interview released Friday.

Cohen told Vanity Fair the comment came during a conversation he had with Trump following the candidate’s return from a campaign rally during the 2016 election cycle.

Cohen noticed the crowd was mostly Caucasian and told Trump.

“I told Trump that the rally looked vanilla on television,” Cohen said. “Trump responded, ‘That’s because black people are too stupid to vote for me.’ ”

And Cohen recalled traveling with the president in Chicago in the early 2000s for a Trump International Hotel board meeting.

“We were going from the airport to the hotel, and we drove through what looked like a rougher neighborhood,” Cohen told the magazine. “Trump made a comment to me, saying that only the blacks could live like this.”

Cohen said he should have quit the Trump Organization after hearing the remarks, but held back. “I should have been a bigger person, and I should have left,” he told VF.

In August, Cohen pleaded guilty to charges including campaign finance fraud stemming from hush-money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels and ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal.

As part of his plea deal, Cohen agreed not to challenge any sentence between 46 and 63 months.
