Dwyane Wade says he is going to miss at least another week before returning to the Miami Heat, while ensuring that his wife, actress Gabrielle

Union-Wade, and newborn daughter are doing well enough for him to resume playing.

Wade will miss, at minimum, four games this week. He has also missed Miami’s last three contests.

ND’s Book may be back

Ian Book’s stay on No. 3 Notre Dame’s sideline will be a short one.

Coach Brian Kelly announced Sunday the 6-foot, 208-pound junior quarterback, who led the Irish (10-0, No. 3 CFP) to six straight victories before suffering a rib injury in Notre Dame’s 31-21 victory at Northwestern two weeks ago, will practice Tuesday and, if there are no setbacks, reclaim his starting spot over Brandon Wimbush.

Notre Dame plays No. 12 Syracuse at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

Duke safety KO’d by ankle

Duke says safety Dylan

Singleton is out indefinitely with a broken left ankle. Team spokesman Art

Chase said Singleton had surgery Sunday to repair the injury suffered a day earlier in a 42-35 victory over North Carolina.

Duke (7-3, 3-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) visits No. 2 Clemson on Saturday night.

Turf may Under-whelm

The abused hybrid grass of Meico City’s Azteca Stadium is generating concerns for its poor condition a week before it hosts an NFL regular-season game between the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.

Last May, stadium authorities changed the surface from natural to hybrid. But the intense activity in the last few months has prevented the grass from reaching an optimum state.

Arturo Olive, director of the NFL office in Mexico, said recently he was not concerned about the state of the field and that NFL personnel were working along with the groundskeepers from Azteca to get it right for the game.
