Another Utah St. blowout is on tap

- By MITCH MOSS

I’m going to the well with Utah State one more time. This team is an ATS powerhouse. The Aggies are 9-1 against the spread this season, tied with Washington State for tops in the country. I’ve been betting this team pretty much the entire season, and laying 31 points to San Jose State didn’t scare me away last week. It paid off once again as Utah State won, 62-24.

The Aggies’ opponent this week is Colorado State. The Rams have failed to cover three straight games, and were blown out, 49-10, this past Saturday versus Nevada.

Some more numbers for you: Utah State is second in the country in scoring behind Oklahoma. The Sooners average 49 ppg, the Aggies 48.9. Utah State also is averaging 59.7 ppg in its previous three contests, and 6.8 yard per play for the season, 10th in country. They’re averaging 303 yards rushing over their past three games at 6.4 yards per attempt.

The Rams, meanwhile, are abysmal on defense. They allow the following numbers (national rank): 455 yards per game (103rd); 6.7 yards per play (121st); 38.9 ppg (120th); 204.3 rushing yards (96th); 5.2 yards per attempt (105th).

THE PLAY: Give me Utah State -27. I know this pick is extremely chalky, but this team has been covering big numbers all year long.
