Showdown in the Swamp: Florida’s Deadlocked Races
As every other county in Florida was able to comply with the Election Day deadline, including the Panhandle, which was ravaged by a Category 5 hurricane, it remains suspect that two heavily Democratic counties (Broward and Palm Beach) are once again at the center of a statewide recount (“Recount havoc,” Nov. 13).
Incompetence and corruption abound, and the very sanctity of our voting process is being turned on its head.
Elections have consequences, as should attempting to change a fair and just outcome. Bob Pacella Massapequa
Democratic candidates Andrew Gillum and Sen. Bill Nelson’s lawyers objected to a noncitizen’s vote not being counted. How can any citizen take these people seriously?
This is the United States, and it is a privilege of citizens to vote for the leaders of our country. We do not want noncitizens voting for our political leaders.
If you want the privi- lege of voting, come here legally, apply for citizenship, study and become a citizen. Then, and only then, can your vote count. Jean Cole Juno Beach, Fla.
As votes continue to be counted in close races from the election, President Trump is playing a dangerous game, making accusations with no basis that fraud favoring the Democrats is taking place.
His posture is just serving to gin up the Trump mobs, as they de- mand that Republican candidates prevail.
If vote-counting shenanigans that impact the results of key elections in favor of the Democrats are occurring, of course they shouldn’t be allowed.

Democrats were initially losing a senatorial and gubernatorial election in Florida, but now officials are conveniently finding tens of thousands of new late votes in Democraticcontrolled Broward and Palm Beach counties, which may reverse the results. A similar situation occurred in Arizona.
