QUARTERBACK-CORNERBACK MATCHUP TO WATCH
The debate always will carry on about when it’s a good time for a team to have its bye week. This week, of the five teams who are on their respective byes, only one of them (the 7-3 Patriots) has a winning record, and they’re coming off a blowout loss to the Titans.
With that, here’s The Post’s NFL High Five for Week 11:
During the offseason, loquacious Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey, in a GQ article, had a lot to say about a lot of NFL quarterbacks — most of which was not complimentary.
One of those quarterbacks was Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger, whose Steelers Ramsey and the struggling Jaguars host Sunday.
“Big Ben, I think he’s decent at best,” Ramsey said in the story. “Big Ben slings the ball a lot of the time. He just slings it, and his receivers go get it. He has a strong arm, but he ain’t all that. I played him twice last year, and he really disappointed me.’’
Big Ben, who has the chance to really disappoint the plummeting 3-6 Jaguars, opted to take the high road during the week when asked about Ramsey.
“I’m not going to fear anybody, no matter who they are,” Roethlisberger told reporters. “But you respect him, for sure. He has all the tools. [He’s a] combative DB who has great ball skills and great speed.”
Roethlisberger passed for 469 yards and three TDs against the Jacksonville defense in a 45-42 divisional playoff loss last season. But he had seven turnovers in two games against Jacksonville last season, including a five-interception game in Week 5.
The Steelers quarterback has been nearly perfect of late, posting a 158.3 passer rating in last week’s 52-21 win over the Panthers and is on pace for to throw for more than 5,100 yards and 37 TDs this season.
