The house loses in AC

“OCEAN’S 8” — the jewelry-heist film starring Sandra Bullock, Rihanna,

Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway — may have inspired a million-dollar burglary at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, NJ

The presidential suite on the 44th floor, where the casino’s owner Bruce

Deifik and wife Nancy stay, was hit in late October, sources say, and nearly $1 million in jewelry went missing.

“A theft is actively being investigated by detectives,” Sgt. Kevin Fair, a spokesman for the Atlantic City Police Department, told me. The theft was reported Oct. 24, he said.

Deifik, who owns two casinos in Las Vegas, bought the former Revel casino, a $2 billion project, for $200 million after it went bankrupt. He reopened it as Ocean Resort Casino in June and has entertained such stars as Mark Wahlberg, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Am

brosio and 50 Cent. He wouldn’t discuss the theft of his wife’s jewelry. “It’s not even newsworthy,” Deifik said. “I have no comment.”

Detectives interviewed hotel staff who had access to the suite and NJ state troopers scoured the rooms for DNA evidence, sources said.

There allegedly is no video of the thieves. Deifik reportedly told police he didn’t think anyone other than the hotel’s cleaning staff had been in the room. A hotel rep said he did not know . anything about the theft.
