Winter Village at Bryant Park

-

This holiday mainstay attracts thousands of shoppers every year, and for good reasons: its central location (just six blocks from the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree) and its more than 170 gift shops and 40 or so food vendors. The park’s free ice-skating rink (with $20 skate rentals) is an added attraction.

The vibe: In the afternoons, you’ll likely find suit-clad office workers grabbing a hot bite for lunch while enjoying the festive scenery. But there are plenty of tourists, too. Norwich, England, residents Jaymie Elliott and Richard Johnson made Bryant Park their first stop after flying in Tuesday morning, grabbing pints of Brooklyn Lager in the new Lodge by Urbanspace tent.

“It’s always been my dream to come [to New York] during Christmas,” says Elliott. “It’s lovely, isn’t it?”

Cool finds: There’s a sweet story behind Queensbased honey stand HoneyGramz, debuting at the Village this year. Founder Ruth Harrigan spent 20 years on Wall Street before she found her “calling” in beekeeping nine years ago, she says. “My mission is to try to help save the bees, and we do that by donating 1 percent [of sales] . . . to nonprofits in New York City that do anything involving saving the bees.” (It’s $10 for a 2.8-ounce jar of her own “Unforgettable” honey.)

Fueling up: The ski-chalet-inspired Lodge is new this year and houses outposts of a handful of eateries such as Good Stock and Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery, plus the pine-garland-adorned Lodge Bar, where shoppers can take a break with a beer or glass of Champagne. Open weekdays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., weekends 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Through Jan. 2. Sixth Avenue between 40th and 42nd streets; BryantPark.org
