Flores went 0-for-4 in his big league debut the night before, but followed that up by going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs in a 5-0 win over the Rockies at Citi Field. His first hit was a second-inning single.
The “trade” and the tears July 29, 2015
As the Mets played the Padres at Citi Field, reports had Flores getting traded to the Brewers in a deal for Carlos Gomez. Flores, playing shortstop, began crying on the field. Concerns over Gomez’s hip nixed the deal and kept Flores with the Mets.

Having endeared himself to Mets fans with his tears, Flores gave them something to cheer about with a walk-off home run in the 12th inning against the Nationals. It gave the Mets a 2-1 win and was one of the sparks of their run to the NL East title.
Tying Fonzi July 3, 2016
Flores joined Edgardo Alfonzo as the only Met to get six hits in a game, going 6-for-6 in a 14-3 victory over the Cubs in Queens. Flores also homered twice, scored three times and drove in four.
Mets’ walk-off king July 9, 2018
Flores became the Mets’ all-time leader in walk-off hits with a pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 4-3 victory over the Phillies at Citi Field. It was the 10th walk-off hit of his career.
