Fatal crew car strike

A longtime crewmember of the hit Starz drama “Power” died when a coworker ran him over at a Brooklyn filming location — putting the show’s production on pause indefinitely.

Parking production assistant Pedro Jimenez, 63, was laying cones on a parking lane to prep a Cobble Hill set around 4:30 a.m. Monday when his colleague and friend rammed into him in an SUV, the NYPD said.

When the 64-year-old driver of the 2006 Ford Explorer realized he’d hit Jimenez, he jumped out of his car and yelled out in horror, a neighbor told The Post.

“The guy who was hit was on the floor. It was the driver who was just screaming, just trying to find help,” said Hanna Heldenmuth, who witnessed the aftermath from a second-story apartment across from the crash on Douglass Street at the corner of Court Street.

“He was a mess. I was in pain for him,” Heldenmuth said of the driver. “I was literally in tears just listening to this guy screaming.”

Another neighbor went down to help, Heldenmuth said, adding that Jimenez looked unconscious when first responders arrived.

Jimenez died at Brooklyn Hospital, police said.

“He was the best person. A great man, a great father,” said Edwin Belliard, a cousin of Jimenez’s wife, Gladys.

She was in the Dominican Republic at the time of the crash and flew back on Monday, Belliard said.

The family is “shocked,” he added, saying the driver was a pal of Jimenez’s.

“Power,” about a ruthless New York gangster nicknamed Ghost, shut down production of its sixth season out of respect for the Jimenez family and to allow cast and crew time to grieve, a Starz spokesperson said.

The show was set to return in summer 2019.

Jimenez, who has two sons and two daughters ranging in age from 28 to 40, had worked on the show since its 2014 debut season.

“I just learned we lost Pedro Jimenez, a member of the Power production team early this morning,” tweeted rapper 50 Cent, who stars on and co-executive produces the show. “My prayers and condolences are with the entire Jimenez family.”

The NYPD is looking into the crash, but no charges are expected.

The driver’s niece told The Post he’d worked on the show for a few years. Attempts to reach him were unsuccessful.
