Standing-room tix at Citi for $39 a month
Now you can binge-watch the Mets right at Citi Field.
Baseball is going the way of the big screen with a new Netflix-style subscription deal that lets Mets fans score standing-room-only access to nearly every regular-season game for $39 a month.
Anyone with an iPhone or Android device can sign up for the app-based program and download mobile tickets to 78 games this season — even at the last minute, a team rep told The Post.
Baseball buffs then scan their mobile tickets at the gate and start live- streaming the games, literally.
“The program is targeted to the millennial demographic and unconventional audiences. It’s great way to gain access to Citi Field at a low cost,” said Chris Zaber, the Met’s senior vice president of ticket sales. “Even if you come to three games a month, it’s a great deal.”
He also said that not having a seat will not be a problem as there will be plenty of places to stand in the Flushing stadium.
“Citi Field has a lot of great options for standing-room-only ticket holders,” Zaber said. “There’s the Shea Bridge and there are great food offerings. There are a lot of fun things to see and do.”
Amazin’ fans who attended all 78 available games during the sixmonth season would end up paying a bargain-priced $3 a game.
Folks with the so-called Amazin’ Mets Pass, which auto-bills users monthly, can also upgrade to seated tickets on weekdays.
Some fans called the deal a home run. “This is legendary,” baseball buff Eli Krauss cheered via the team’s Facebook page.
Another observer said, “Excellent deal! I already bought mine!”
But some folks, though, refused to commit to the subscription until the team shows signs of improving on its 2018 under-.500 won-loss record of 77-85.
“I think you should offer seats because no one wants to stand to see them lose,” one cynic wrote.
Another noted an often-lamented extra tab, writing, “Too bad it costs $20 a game to park.”
Parking actually costs $25 for cars, though many fans opt for mass transit.
The only other catch? It doesn’t include the April 4 home opener or the two home games against the Yankees on July 2-3.
Similar tech-savvy deals have been launched by the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Twins.
