What the Mueller Report Means for Team Trump

-

Although President Trump has been exonerated by the special counsel’s report, the Democrats and their handmaidens in the news media will never be satisfied as long as he maintains the presidency (“Trump clean,” April 19).

For their own selfish interests, they will continue to parse Robert Mueller’s each and every word to try and find anything that will substantiate their claims of collusion.

Meanwhile, Trump will just go about his business to remake America as it once was — the greatest nation ever.

The Post headline “Trump clean” was grossly misleading. The special counsel clearly left the obstruction issue to be investigated by Congress.

The subhead, “Dem hoax destroyed,” makes a mockery of an absolutely essential investigation into the proven Russian interference in our elections, in which Americans may have participated.

For almost two years, the Democrats and liberal media have been saying they’re waiting for the Mueller report.

First, Attorney General William Barr released his brief but accurate summary. Then on Thursday, Barr released the redacted report, and we learned that his analysis was correct and he did not misstate or misinform us.

Yet Trump’s critics are belittling and debasing Barr for his news conference, calling him a “lackey” to the president.

No amount of truth will ever satisfy the Democrats or their lackeys in the news media. Neither group will apologize for their two years of baseless charges, innuendoes and rumor-spreading.

Now their enemy will be Barr, and then they will go after their idol Mueller for not indicting the president.

The redacted Mueller report that Barr released on Thursday may not include the proverbial “smoking gun” to end Trump’s presidency, but it does leave readers wondering this: Why did key insiders like Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Michael Flynn and others who had daily conversations with Trump lie to investigators?

If they weren’t protecting the president, then who were they protecting and why?

The next step after the Mueller report is to investigate the illegal spying that took place against the Trump campaign.

What will be the Democrats’ next crisis and reason to impeach? Wouldn’t just persuading voters that they have a better plan for our country be a more effective way to win back the

White House in 2020? And wouldn’t it be a lot cheaper and less divisive and polarizing for all of us

Voters need to be convinced that a change of leadership will make the country better than it has been under the current administration. If you have no positive agenda, you just keep obstructing and doubling-down on impeachment.

The Post’s overage of the Mueller report was misleading. Perhaps Trump did not commit a crime, but he was not fully exonerated.

His campaign welcomed Russia’s help and the president attempted to thwart the investigation, conduct wholly unbecoming of the highest office in the land.

And if the president accepts Mueller’s findings, then he admits that Russia helped him win the election, and he likely would not be president without its interference.

Democrats: It’s time to put on your big boy (and girl) pants. Even after the Mueller report, they continue to cry foul and talk about impeachment. We’re 18 months from the 2020 election, and they don’t have a candidate who can beat Trump.

They don’t have a platform to improve the current economy, lower unemployment and increase wages for the middle class. If there is going to be a chance for them to win the White House, they need to come up with something big.
