A Deviant Gets His Due: Epstein’s Sex-Crime Bust

- letters@ nypost.com THE ISSUE: Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest on charges of sex trafficking underage girls. E-MAIL: letters@nypost.com or WRITE to The Editor, The New York Post, 1211 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036. Include name, address

Jeffrey Epstein has been charged with sex trafficking, and he is innocent till proven guilty (“Unlocking his den of sleaze,” July 9).

But numerous famous people have sought Epstein’s favor, including current President Trump, and former President Bill Clinton. The list is long.

It’s difficult to believe Epstein’s alleged predilection was not known by his friends. Powerful people do not become wealthy by being stupid.

Epstein is a window to the world of what the people who rule in government and commerce are about. Were they born that way or did power corrupt them? Probably the latter.

I do not want to think that a sitting or former president had sex with underage girls. Sex trafficking is a pandemic in America.

Hopefully for the victims, Epstein will get the justice he has earned.

You have to be suspicious of Alexander Acosta, who cut him a deal when it seemed like he had him dead to rights.

And now that the feds raided Epstein’s home, maybe they will find dirt on some of Epstein’s cohorts. And hopefully Trump will be going down.

It should come as a surprise to no one that Clinton took rides on Epstein’s “Lolita Express.”

Our former president, the icon of the Democratic Party, is just pure sleaze.

As sickening as the charges against Epstein are, it’s also sickening that the office of Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance argued against Epstein being labeled a Level-3 sex offender, the most severe classification.

Hey, Vance, you are supposed to be representing the people against lowlife’s like this, not sticking up for them. I’d like to know what Vance’s motivation was.

Fortunately, the federal prosecutors are seeking justice against this revolting pedophile.

It should also be pointed out that this is not the first time Vance has stuck his head in the ground when authorities were seeking charges against affluent suspects.

Going easy on highend, lowlife offenders may be beneficial to Vance, but it allowed a child predator to continue his vile behavior.

Every New Yorker who is the parent of young girls should keep this ongoing case in mind the next time Vance is up for re-election.

Epstein, who was arrested once again and charged with sex trafficking underaged girls, is another example of the rich and powerful receiving lenient punishment in our criminal-justice system.

What counts for people like him is not what crimes they may have committed but who they know, especially if they have friends in high places. A sexual predator like him should have received severe punishment long ago, but he either escaped consequences or got extremely light punishment, perhaps because of his connections.

No wonder people have lost faith in our criminal-justice system, as it is heavily stacked in favor of the wealthy and powerful.

Kenneth Zimmerman Huntington Beach, Calif.

Clinton said he “knows nothing” about the crimes committed by this dirtbag, Epstein.

I wonder how he’s going to explain the reports that he took trips on Epstein’s private jet, dubbed “Lolita Express.”

I’ll say one thing about the Clintons: They sure have an interesting group of friends — Epstein, Harvey Weinstein and Anthony Weiner.

Gary Cella Cos Cob, Conn.

Calls for Labor Secretary Acosta to resign seem to miss why he was hired.

Like so many highranking officials in the Trump administration, Acosta is dirty and compromised. That appears to be Trump’s “type.”
