R. KELLY IN SEX BUST BY NYPD

- By LARRY CELONA Additional reporting by Ben Feuerherd

R. Kelly was arrested by the NYPD in Chicago Thursday night on federal sex-crimes charges — and is expected to be brought to New York City to face the raps, lawenforcement sources said.

The R&B singer, 52, was taken into custody by NYPD detectives and federal investigators, according to the sources.

The officers who arrested him were assigned to the NYPD/Homeland Security Public Safety Task Force, the sources said.

He’s expected to be extradited to New York and charged in a 13-count indictment in Brooklyn federal court.

Kelly was also arrested twice earlier this year on a slew of sexual-abuse charges in his hometown of Chicago.

In May, the “Ignition” singer was hit with 11 counts of sex assault, including four counts of aggravated sexual assault, which carry a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.

Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charges at a court hearing in June.

His lawyer said afterward that one of the accusers is among the four women he was charged with sexually abusing in 2008. Kelly was acquitted then.

In February, the embattled star was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four victims, three of whom were underage.

The evidence against Kelly in the February case is based, in part, on a tape that allegedly shows him having sex with an underage girl.

The tape was given to prosecutors by Michael Avenatti, the disgraced lawyer who previously represented President Trump’s accuser Stormy Daniels.

Kelly’s lawyers requested to see any communication between Avenatti and Cook County prosector Kim Foxx, who is under investigation for her handling of the Jussie Smollett alleged bias-beating hoax case.

In court papers, Kelly’s team argued that Foxx’s handling of the Smollett case show that she could be “influenced and wowed.”

They questioned whether Foxx could have been “bullied” by Avenatti into accepting that the sex tape was legit.

Kelly has vigorously denied any wrongdoing in both cases.

In an emotional interview with CBS’s Gayle King in March, Kelly screamed and jumped out of his chair to declare his innocence.

“Thirty years of my career! Y’all trying to kill me!” he said as he pounded his chest.

“Believe me, man! This is not me! They lying on me! They’re lying on me! I’m cool, bro.”
