Top House Republicans rallied to President Trump’s defense Tuesday — denying that his attacks on four progressive female lawmakers were racist and dismissing Democrats’ criticism as nothing but politics.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a Trump ally, urged Democrats to “get back to the business of America” and stop the partisan bickering.

“I think this party has been very clear. We are the party of Lincoln,” the California lawmaker told reporters at the Capitol.

“Let’s not be false about what is happening today. This is about politics,” he added.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said her party’s opposition to the four freshmen firebrands had “absolutely nothing to do with race or gender or religion.”

“We oppose them and their policies because their policies are dangerous and wrong, and will destroy America,” said Cheney, the House Republican Conference chairwoman.

“The issue here is the content of their policies, and we will continue to stand up and fight against what we know is wrong for this nation.”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana also slammed the women — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts — for staging a news conference Monday to push for Trump’s impeachment.

“We expressed our disagreements in a respectful way,” Scalise said of the GOP’s dealings with then-President Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, the resolution condemning Trump’s attacks on the four Democrats passed the House Tuesday night.

Scalise said the GOP leadership urged all Republicans to vote against it, but four Republicans did back the measure.

Trump began attacking the four firebrand Dems on Sunday, and the tweets and comments continued Monday and again on Tuesday.
