IL for 2 Reds catchers

The Reds are down to their fourth and fifth catchers after placing two more on the injured list Thursday.

Curt Casali went on the 10-day IL with a right knee sprain that manager David Bell said could keep him out for as long as a month. Kyle

Farmer was placed on the seven-day concussion list after taking two foul balls off his mask in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s road game against the Cubs. Gold Glove catcher Tucker Barnhart has been out since June 28 with a right oblique strain.

Juan Graterol was promoted from Triple-A Louisville and the Reds signed Ryan Lavarnway, one day after he was released by Yankees.

Prado back for Marlins

The Marlins activated veteran infielder Martin

Prado (right hamstring strain) from the injured list and replaced him on the IL with utility man JT Riddle (forearm strain).

Inciarte activated

The Braves reinstated outfielder Ender Inciarte from the injured list. Inciarte has been out since May 15 with a lumbar strain. The Braves also recalled righthande­r Kyle Wright from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Thursday’s game after scratching scheduled starter Julio Teheran.

T’wolves sign Reid

The Timberwolv­es signed rookie center Naz Reid to a multiyear contract, upgrading the two-way deal they initially gave him before a strong performanc­e for the team’s entry in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The new contract all but ensures Reid will be on the regular-season roster, after going undrafted out of LSU.

Europa ban for match-fix

UEFA has removed Mechelen from the Europa League group stage after reviewing its investigat­ion of alleged match-fixing in Belgium last year. Royal Antwerp advanced by one qualifying round, and Gent, which had not originally qualified for the Europa League, was given a spot in the second qualifying round. Gent will face Viitorul Constanta of Romania on July 25.
