TENNIS: Osaka injured

Top-ranked Naomi Osaka dropped out of her quarterfin­al match at the Western & Southern Open in Mason, Ohio, because of a knee injury.

The defending U.S. Open champion is expected to get an MRI exam, and she said Friday she is concerned about her chances of making another deep run in New York.

“Last year, I won the U.S. Open,” she said. “This year, I’m trying to play the U.S. Open.”
