Dem ‘spoiler’ Tulsi tussles with Hillary
Hillary Clinton battled with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard on Friday, implying that the Democratic presidential candidate was being “groomed” by Russia before Gabbard responded online that Clinton was “queen of warmongers.”
The vicious volley began when Clinton (upper inset) said during a podcast interview that a Democrat in the 2020 race might run as a third-party spoiler at the behest of Russia.
“I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” the exsecretary of state told former Obama adviser David Plouffe on his podcast, “Campaign HQ.”
“She’s the favorite of the Russians.”
While Clinton didn’t name names, Plouffe ended the podcast episode by remarking on Clinton’s “belief that Tulsi Gabbard is going to be a third-party candidate propped up by Trump and the Russians,” and Clinton did not contradict him.
Hours later, Gabbard (lower inset) opened fire on Twitter.
“Thank you @HillaryClinton,” the Hawaiian congresswoman tweeted. “You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain.
“From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.”
By “proxies,” Gabbard may have been referring to former UN Ambassador Samantha Power, who on Friday tweeted, “If @TulsiGabbard runs, it wd be a huge windfall” for President Trump.
