A Bizarre Accusation: Hillary’s Swipe at Tulsi

-

Hillary Clinton’s claim that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard may be a Russian asset who could be used by the Russians as a third-party candidate to divide Democrats and help President Trump win in 2020 is extremely reckless, dangerous and irresponsible unless Clinton has solid proof to back up her assertions (“Gift of Gabbard vs. Hillary,” Miranda Devine, Oct. 21).

These claims, if unfounded, may unfairly destroy Gabbard’s political career. Clinton also claimed that 2016 Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein was a Russian asset. She’s becoming as great a conspiracy theorist as Trump himself. Kenneth Zimmerman Huntington Beach, Calif.

With her latest bizarre cheap shot at Gabbard, Clinton has added to the long list of reasons why she’s unfit for not just the presidency but any public office.

It’s time for the woman who won a fixed 2016 primary season, and then gave life to the cheap, vindictive conspiracy theory that has engulfed our government for three years, to disappear into the woods. Gary Mottola Brooklyn

Gabbard responded to Clinton’s allegations exactly the way one would suspect a Russian asset (willingly or unwillingly) would respond.

All her foreign-policy ideas would benefit Russia. It’s very telling that many Republicans gravitate toward her over other Democratic candidates, even prior to this incident with Hillary.

It’s also quite strange how Miranda Devine attacks Hillary by saying she showed a lack of empathy when Moammar Khadafy was killed. The man was a terrorist with American blood on his hands.

You could argue that if certain regions are run by strongmen, it could be more beneficial to American interests in the long term to have them stay in power, but nobody loses an ounce of humanity for celebrating the death of a monster. Out of all the criticisms that one can level against Hillary, this one is asinine and would make the Kremlin smile, too. David Kafko Brooklyn

The “Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian asset” conspiracy theory is ginned up by the Democratic Party and its faithful elitist entourage. These Democratic demagogues must smoke some incredible stuff to come up with fairy-tale stories like this one.

Gabbard may run as a third-party candidate; however, it would bring glee and jubilation to the liberals, as it would serve one primary purpose: to take votes (and Electoral College advantage) away from Trump. If anything, Gabbard is an asset to the progressive Democratic Party. Frank Klonoski Saint Simons Island, Ga.

Hillary lost the presidential race, fair and square. She compromised the State Department during her stint as secretary with her unsecured e-mail server.

Yet she still rants and raves about everything and everyone, except herself and her own faults. She should learn, if possible, from her own errors.

Give it up. Enough is enough. We are tired of her antics. It doesn’t help her anymore. It just shows everyone how incompetent she is. Erica Sloane New Rochelle

Hold the presses, I agree with a Democrat, Gabbard, in her response to being accused by Clinton of being a Russian troll.

Imagine the financier of the dishonored “Steele Dossier” accusing someone else of being a pawn for the Russians? Hillary should crawl back under her rock. She seems to be a legend in her own mind. Delray Beach, Fla. Chuck Lehmann

As a California independent who is for “anyone but Trump,” I appreciate Clinton’s warning that Trump and the Russians know they will need a third-party candidate in swing states to retain the White House.

But Gabbard has said she will not run as a third-party candidate. No one should. Mountain View, Calif. Gary Wesley

Clinton’s latest slander against Gabbard just seems to reflect a Democratic trend since Clinton lost the 2016 election.

There were the fraudulent claims of Russian collusion against Trump. Then the Democrats made unproven claims against Brett Kavanaugh.

Democrats seem stuck in a “wash, rinse and repeat” cycle of politics. Jim Glaab, Elmsford
