Nancy’s Boiling Point: Don’s ‘Third-Rate Pol’ Jab

-

It seems like it’s OK for Rep. Nancy Pelosi to call President Trump all kinds of derogatory names, say he should be locked up in jail and try to impeach him, but it’s not OK for him to fire back at her (“Nancy’s finger trap,” Miranda Devine, Oct. 21).

Since the Senate will never remove him, she should concentrate on getting work done for the American people.

My prediction is he will win in a landslide this time, and the Republicans will take back the House and increase their majority in the Senate. Stephen Colasacco The Bronx

I read Miranda Devine’s column attacking Pelosi for pointing her finger at Trump across the table.

Her point was that somehow, in some way, Pelosi diminished all women. Besides being inaccurate, it raises a question of rank hypocrisy.

When Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer stuck her bony finger directly into the face of President Barack Obama as he got off Air Force One, Republicans cheered her.

There was no talk of hurting women. Just the opposite: She was lauded. Why the double standard? M.L. Wilson Long Island

Last week’s infamous White House meeting between Trump and Pelosi has the Democrats’ panties in a twist.

Prior to Pelosi’s storming from this meeting, Trump called her a thirdrate politician.

When Pelosi acts like a third-rate politician and attempts to lead the House like a third-rate politician, guess what? She’s a thirdrate politician.

Then Rep. Steny Hoyer, Pelosi’s old buddy from Maryland, excoriated Trump for the way he treated Pelosi. If she wants to play hardball in the sewer of down-and-dirty Washington politics, then she better be prepared to deal with filth. As the old saying goes: If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Earl Beal Terre Haute, Ind.

Devine goes a tad overboard in her critique of Pelosi pointing a finger at our president.

After all, it’s not like she was using the finger that he so justly deserves. David Charak Boca Raton, Fla.
