OFFENSE

For the second straight game, the Jets put together a great first drive and then went into the tank. The final statistics don’t reflect how poorly this game went. They finished with 321 total yards, but most of those were meaningless. They scored just 18 points (16 on offense) against a team that was allowing 34 points per game. QB Sam Darnold (27 of 39, 260 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 85.4 rating) had another terrible interception in the red zone. RB Le’Veon Bell (17 rushes, 66 yards, 8 receptions, 55 yards) was more involved than last week but did not have a play longer than 14 yards. DThe offensive line had issues … again.

DEFENSE

Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (24 of 36, 288 yards, 3 TDs, 118.8 rating) picked apart

Gregg Williams’ unit. Miami went 6-for-12 on third-down conversions and the Jets barely touched Fitzpatrick all day. Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki (6 catches, 95 yards) killed the Jets. The Jets secondary let receivers run open. CB D

Darryl Roberts had two bad penalties.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Vyncint Smith breathed some life into the Jets with a 78-yard kick return just before halftime that should have led to points. Sam

Ficken went 3-for-4 on field goals, including hitting a 52-yarder. Arthur Maulet gave the Dolphins field position when he Binterfered with the Dolphins returner.

COACHING

How do you lose to an organization that does not want to win? The Jets found a way. Adam Gase again had no answers after the first drive. The Dolphins defense has been horrendous this season, but you would not know that Sunday. Gregg

Williams got beaten up by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Williams failed to pressure Fitzpatrick and his calls did not F confuse the veteran QB at all.
