WR Green might not be ready
Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green did not practice Wednesday, casting doubt on his expected return to the lineup Sunday against the Ravens.
Coach Zac Taylor said Green experienced discomfort during a walkthrough and sought treatment on his injured left ankle.
Downgrading his projection from earlier Wednesday, Taylor told NFL Network that Green is now considered “day by day.”
Limited to nine games last season with a toe injury, Green suffered torn ligaments in his ankle on the first day of training camp and had “minor” surgery.
The seven-time Pro Bowl selection hasn’t played since Dec. 2, 2018, but the veteran’s return would be a boost for rookie quarterback Ryan Finley, who will make his first NFL start in place of Andy Dalton.
FALCONS: Quarterback Matt Ryan was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and it is uncertain if he will start at New Orleans.
A sprained right ankle forced Ryan to miss his first game since 2009, snapping a streak of 163 consecutive starts, when Atlanta lost to Seattle two weeks ago.
RAMS: Receiver Brandin Cooks won’t play Sunday against Pittsburgh while he seeks further medical help for his second concussion in a month.
Cooks was ruled out by coach Sean McVay on Wednesday in the wake of at least his fifth concussion during his six-year NFL career.
COWBOYS: Police in the Dallas suburb of Frisco said defensive lineman Daniel Ross was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Frisco police Sgt. Evan Mattei said Ross was arrested Wednesday morning. He didn’t provide further details. The department didn’t respond immediately to a public information request.
VIKINGS: Minnesota claimed safety Andrew Sendejo off waivers from Philadelphia, bringing back a longtime piece of their secondary.
