LOOK MA, NO HANDCUFFS!

Rapper Remy off hook as witness goes mum

- By REBECCA ROSENBERG

That’s a rap! The case against rapper Remy Ma — who was charged with slugging “Love & Hip Hop” castmate Brittney Taylor — was dismissed Monday partly due to the silence of a key witness.

The assault charges against her were dropped and the case sealed by a Manhattan judge after prosecutors said a woman stopped cooperating and another claimed she never saw a fight.

“We cannot prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Assistant DA Juan Maldonado, who asked for the dismissal.

Maldonado said that a witness who was with Ma the entire night of the alleged April 16 attack never saw her interact with Taylor. Another witness, who initially supported Taylor’s narrative, had stopped talking to investigators.

The Bronx-born performer, 39, whose real name is Reminisce Smith, had been charged with four counts of misdemeanor assault and harassment.

Wearing a plush pink and yellow fur coat with yellow pumps, she beamed as she left Manhattan Criminal Court.

“I’m just happy that it’s over,” she said. “I wish they would have come to this conclusion before I had an ankle bracelet and lost months and months of wages.”

The case began to crumble after Taylor wrote in a private group chat that it was actually the rapper’s husband, Papoose, who left her with the shiner.

Taylor’s civil lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, declined to comment. Remy’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, said that she was pleased the truth finally emerged

“Remy Smith has always maintained her complete innocence as she never laid a hand on her . . . accuser,” the attorney said.
