Trudeau’s New Low

-

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he’s “angry” that 57 of his citizens died after Iranian missiles hit that civilian plane. But he’s not directing his outrage at those who fired it — instead, he’s suggesting President Trump is at fault.

“If there were no tensions, if there was no escalation recently in the region, those Canadians would be right now home with their families,” Trudeau said Monday — as if that were the real cause.

It was Iran that shot down the plane after it fired other missiles at Americans in Iraq in response to the US droning of terror master Qassem Soleimani. Tehran’s airport was far outside the active-conflict zone — and it was the Iranians’ duty to stop flights once they started shooting, and/or to train their defenders better.

“I have spoken to him, and I have talked about the need to de-escalate tensions,” Trudeau said of Trump — who in fact already de-escalated last Wednesday.

More blather: “I’ve talked about the tremendous grief and loss that Canadians are feeling and the need for clear answers on how this happened and how we’re going to make sure it never happens again.”

He should be talking tough to Tehran, which refuses to take real responsibility for killing 176 innocents. It denied blame completely for three days after the massacre; then its foreign minister cited “human error at time of crisis caused by US adventurism.”

In other words, Trudeau is effectively supporting Iran’s propaganda. Disgusting.
