NFL: Jaguars decline Fournette’s option

The Jaguars declined to pick up the fifth-year option in running back Leonard Fournette’s rookie contract. The decision Friday was no surprise because the team tried to trade Fournette over the last month.

He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is due to make $4.17 million in 2020. He will count $8.64 million against the salary cap. Jacksonvil­le also signed former Redskins running back Chris Thompson to a free-agent contract.

The Broncos declined the fifth-year option on left tackle Garett Bolles. He will make $3.5 million in 2020. The option would have been worth about $11 million, guaranteed against injury.

Miami traded defensive end Charles Harris to the Falcons for a 2021 seventh-round pick.

Backup quarterbac­k Nick Mullens signed his exclusive rights tender with the 49ers, who also signed undrafted running back Salvon Ahmed to a three-year deal.

Veteran safety Ibraheim Campbell agreed to a oneyear deal with the Titans.

Former Eagles tight end Dick Lucas died Wednesday after a battle with the coronaviru­s, the team announced Friday. Lucas was 86.

SOCCER: USWNT’s unequal play claim dismissed

A federal judge threw out the $66 million unequal pay claim by players on the U.S. women’s national soccer team in a surprising loss for the defending World Cup champions but allowed their allegation of discrimina­tory working conditions to go to trial starting June 16.

U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner left intact claims the U.S. Soccer Federation discrimina­ted in the money it spent on commercial airfare, hotel accommodat­ions, and medical and training support services.

Major League Soccer is allowing players to return to outdoor team training fields for individual workouts starting Wednesday. MLS suspended the season on March 12, closing all team facilities but asking players to remain in market with their teams. The workouts will be voluntary. The league-wide moratorium on group and team training remains in effect through May 15.

ETC.: Indians pitcher gets 80-game PED ban

Indians pitcher Emmanuel Clase has been banned for 80 games after testing positive for the performanc­e-enhancing substance Boldenone — an anabolic steroid — MLB announced. His suspension begins when the league resumes playing games. Clase, who was acquired from the Rangers in the deal for Corey Kluber, was expected to miss 8-12 weeks because of a back injury dating back to February.

Bruins goaltender Jaroslav Halak, a former Islander, signed a one-year contract extension worth $2.25 million.

Former Oakland minor leaguer Miguel Marte died after a battle with the coronaviru­s, the Athletics announced Friday. He was 30.
