Gen. Flynn’s Exoneration: The FBI’s Case Meltdown

THE ISSUE: Reports that the FBI targeted Gen. Michael Flynn in an effort to catch him in the act of perjury.

-

The louder the left and media scream, the more they express their guilt regarding the exoneration of Gen. Michael Flynn (“Gone With the Flynn,” May 8).

They had more than two years to perpetuate a completely fictitious narrative of President Trump colluding with Russia. They had no basis for the special counsel to investigate, but they were successful in taking back the House during this investigation.

The Mueller investigation was the biggest miscarriage of justice in American political history. Raymond Fontana

First and foremost, Flynn is a congenital liar: He lied to Vice President Mike Pence, to the FBI and to prosecutors.

Trump’s favorite lawyer posing as the attorney general, William Barr, will go down in history as the most incompetent AG when he is removed in January 2021. Norman Diegnan

After the uncovering of how the FBI went after Gen. Flynn, I believe we’re faced with the stark reality that nothing will come of it.

For years we have been hearing that once the truth sees the light of day, the people who fostered these lies will be brought to justice.

But looking at the collusion investigation, the impeachment and the prosecution of Flynn, it seems the people who are trying to undo the 2016 election will never be held accountable. Stuart Kaufman

In February 2017, the president and vice president both recognized that Gen. Flynn had to be fired from his prominent position, as he had lied to Pence and the FBI during the course of an investigation. What a difference 2 ½ years make.

Now as Barr drops the charges against Flynn — to which he pled guilty — the president lauds his former appointee as a great man, a “warrior” who was treated terribly.

The message has been delivered that if you lie in Trump’s service, there are likely to be no serious consequences. Under Barr and Trump, the Justice Department has become a sham.

With Flynn’s vindication, the first shoe in the vast deep-state conspiracy against Trump has dropped.

The floodgates of information have been flung wide open. Transcripts of testimony by former FBI Director James Comey, James Clapper, Andrew McCabe and all the other authors of the Russian hoax have proven that the Democratic narrative was a lie from the beginning.

But more than that — there was testimony implicating President Barack Obama himself in knowing that the case

against Flynn was fraudulent. Obama did nothing to rein in this miscarriage of justice and, as a result, became an accomplice to it. Jack Kaufman

It is unconscionable what the FBI and DOJ did to Gen. Flynn and almost got away with.

They tried to destroy a man with 33 years of military service to his country with an impeccable reputation. What an embarrassment to our country. Phil Raschiatore

What was done to the honorable Flynn, all for political reasons, is disgraceful.

The damage that these bureaucrats did to lawenforcement agencies is unimaginable. How can an honest agent expect anyone to trust him or her while carrying out an investigation?

If these bureaucrats aren’t held accountable for these corrupt actions, then the criminal-justice system will collapse. Daniel Gardner

Flynn’s involvement in the Russian-collusion fiasco was another criminal case that never should have been brought. It took years to finally be eradicated, but Gen. Flynn is a free man.

Many in the Obama administration pushed this theory that Trump colluded with Russia. Lawyers searched tirelessly for evidence that didn’t exist. It finally was put to bed.

Democrats have fought tooth and nail but came up short. Trump can take a victory lap once again.
