A teen was shot dead in a revenge slaying for his alleged role in the beatdown of a 15-year-old girl to steal her Air Jordans, NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison said Thursday.

Tyquan Howard, 16, was shot in the stomach at about 1 p.m. Tuesday outside a building on St. Johns Place near Rochester Avenue in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, cops said.

Howard died hours later at Brookdale Hospital.

“We had a retaliation shooting in the 77 [Precinct] that stemmed from a young woman that was jumped and robbed by a group of boys,” Harrison said when asked at a City Council hearing about an uptick in shootings.

“It’s all the stemming from crew-on-crew, gangon-gang violence,” he said during a budget hearing.

The 16-year-old and his crew of about a dozen youths pounced on the girl while she was walking on Utica Avenue near Sterling Place in Crown Heights during the afternoon of March 5, police said.

The group punched and kicked the girl in the head andbodyasshewrithedon the ground in pain, according to shocking footage of the incident.

Kids can be seen on camera swarming the girl, with one boy leaping on her and then kicking her in the head.

One of the punks grabbed the girl’s Air Jordan sneakers and the group ran off, the video shows. The group also snatched her debit card and cellphone.

Howard was arrested following the attack and charged with robbery and gang assault. It’s unclear specifically why he was released from jail with charges pending.

He was among at least 12 suspects arrested.

The victim, who suffered head trauma, was hospitalized for several days.

“My granddaughter, her spirits are broke,” Pamela Thompson, the victim’s grandmother, said at the time.
